MICROBLADING FAQ

Microblading aka brow embroidery or 3D brows is a semi-permanent tattoo procedure that is performed with a very thin hand tool that allows to design hyper realistic hair strokes to resemble your very own brow hair. Less invasive than permanent makeup ,it allows to create the most realistic looking brows. This method is ideal for anyone desiring to perfect and enhance the look of their brows.

The pigments used in the procedure are semi-permanent, they typically lasts up to 12 months or longer fading gradually to a softer color. Because of the unique qualities of each individual’s skin and lifestyles, we are unable to guarantee how long your results will last. You will likely need a touchup within 6-24 months.

The procedure is done using a prepackaged sterile single use hand tool made up of a grouping of needles that are 3x smaller than the needles that would be used in a tattoo machine. With the appropriate amount of pressure the pigment is deposited into the epidermis (outermost layer of skin) designing thin hair strokes that resembles little paper-cuts.

Your first appointment may take between 60-90 minutes. We will measure and draw your brows, choose the right color with you and apply a topical anesthetic

Your second appointment (3-4 week touch up) will be between 30-60 minutes.

Each individual will have a different experience with the level of discomfort associated with the service.  Two topical anesthetics are used to ensure your comfort level during the procedure. One is applied 15 minutes prior to beginning the procedure and the second is applied throughout the entire procedure. Usually the pain is minimal to none.

Yes, the pigment used is organic, plant based, and safe.

When you leave from your appointment your brow area may appear pink, and the pigment itself will seem darker than you may prefer but there is no down time and often nobody could tell anything is unusual. During the healing process (1-2 weeks) they will slowly fade to a softer, more natural shade Please refrain from picking your brows and avoid the sun and water.

The perfecting session is required to even out any small imperfections that can come about as result of the healing process.

As often as you would like, as long as 21 days has passed since your last appointment. An annual touch up is recommended to keep your brows looking fresh and defined.

We choose the shape of your new brows together. Whether you are just looking to enhance the fullness of your natural brow, or create a whole new shape, we will take it one step at a time. Your new shape will be applied with a cosmetic pencil first so that you can see how it will look your face. We will not start the procedure until you are happy with what we have created.

No, not with the brow microblading method. Individual strokes are made to closely mimic natural brow hair for the most realistic brow effect possible

Yes they will fade with time as the plant based pigments used is semi-permanent.

As your brows fade, they will look soft and natural. And because the pigment is only placed in the outermost layer of skin, the pigment will not bleed outside of the exact place that it was deposited. This means no blurry blue/grey/green/orange brows. Factors such as sun exposure and certain skincare products and services can also speed up the fading process.

Keep in mind that your brows will appear darker for the first couple of weeks than they will once they have healed. Once they have healed, we can fix any minor imperfections during your 4 week touch up appointment.

  • Botox should be done 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after the procedure.
  • Avoid booking during your menstrual cycle as it can increase your pain.
  • No waxing, tanning or tinting 3 days before.
  • Arrive with no makeup for your appointment. A lot of wiping of pigment takes place and makeup can get ruined, so save yourself the hassle!
  • Be prepared for your brows to look a little red and really dark! – don’t worry, they will fade in color 30-50%.

Immediately after your microblading procedure and in the first week, your brows will appear significantly darker than perhaps your desired look. It may continue to get darker over the next few days as scabs begin to form, however this is not an accurate indication of the finished and healed result. 30-50% of your brow color will fade as the scabs fall off within 7-10 days. In some cases, the scabs may take longer to heal and fall off. DO NOT PICK YOUR SCABS. The pigment is within the scab and you do not want to pull any pigment out of your skin prematurely. We all heal differently and what works on one client may not be effective on another so please do not compare your results.
The complete healing process takes approximately 6 weeks.

! Improper care can result in patchy  or faded brows so please follow this guideline closely !

At times even with proper care the brows can appear uneven, this is normal as the natural skin regeneration is unpredictable and not under our control. A touch up is required 3-4 weeks after your initial procedure to ensure the desired brow effect is achieved.
